“Cardellini” is one of the oldest farms in Valdinievole, which has been handed down for generations in the Puccinelli Sannini family. Its 18th century Villa, with its typically Italian garden characterized by 30 earthen vessels containing lemon trees and park full of age-old trees, still is surrounded by nine hectares of land strewn with vines and olive trees.
The farm, which is not far from the old town of Pescia, is in the midst of quiet countryside on the slopes of the hills of Lucca, where they enter the province of Pistoia, next to Collodi, the famous place of Pinocchio. Nevertheless, all main services, such as bars, pizza huts, restaurants, supermarkets, shops, etc are less than 1 km away and can therefore easily be reached on foot. In particular, the villa is about 700 metres from the railway station, which connects Pescia to Florence, Lucca, Pisa and the beaches of Viareggio.
Four apartments are located in a farmhouse behind the Villa. Three of them “Caminetto” ( “Chimney”), “Granaio” (Granary”) and “Pozzo” (“Well”) are the result of refurbishment and are furnished with new modern pieces of furniture. Each one has an adjoining fenced patio and arcade. The fourth one, “Villa”, is dedicated to true lovers of historical culture, as its 18th century architectural features have been fully preserved, including an original fireplace made of “serena” rock; it also has a little garden. In front of the farmhouse there is a large lawn that is for common use. It has a barbecue, wood-burning oven, parking area and a swimming pool (diameter: 5 metres; depth 110 cm).
The other three apartments belonging to the “Cleopatra Residence” are located in the garden adjoining the Villa. “Casale” is a restructured farmhouse that looks onto a very old farmyard; it is furnished with rustic period pieces of furniture. “Rosmarino” is an adorable, supermodern little love nest for a couple; it has a garden, which looks onto the Italian garden with the 30 lemon trees. The “Dependance” is located on top of the old stables; it looks onto the Italian garden and park, and boasts both modern appliances and pieces of antique furniture.
The common space of the “Cleopatra Residence” is secluded, as it is completely surrounded by high laurel bushes. It has a barbecue, gazebo, parking places, playground for children and a swimming-pool identical to the one described above. Besides offering a wonderful period of relaxation and entertainment, Cardellini farmhouse offers also the opportunity of tasting its farm products, of visiting its original age-old cellar and of following a short course on wine-making, including active participation in the grape harvest.
